Todd machined jewelry
Todd has a girlfriend with large gauge holes in her ears. He machined up some plugs out of aircraft grade aluminum and mounted genuine 70's Cadillac interior emblems.
I hope she appreciated them.

1949
I fine tuned my search on the LIFE archive and focused on the Loomis Dean 1949 motorcycle pictures. It seems he did an in depth expose of motorcycle culture around Los Angeles in 1949.
Here are some I have not posted before.
Booze Fighters MC in the lead
Unicycle
Three Point MC
Indian Vertical Twin
SO. Cal. MC
Speedway bikes with an inverted negative
More speedway
Tattoos and tramps
Biker Chickie
group of chicks
Big Air AJS
Chuck and his fender fluff
Chuck should think about some eye protection
Hollywood MC (notice trailered bike)
Mustang
Curves with HMC
Dirt of Glory
Climb the Hill
Proud of Racer Pop
Powder Puff Race
Excelsior Thumper
Happiness
Straight Outta Compton
All of this and no Harley-Davidsons. What is the story with that? Did only LA cops ride Milwaukee back then?
Later,

My buddy Marc.
Tight as brothers. Rode to Sturgis with him. Even if we don't hang out for a year, it's like we were just chilling yesterday when we meet. One of life's treasures to have a friend like that.

Pops and his wrecker
Pops and the 73 Chevy with a Holmes 440 boom. He helped our next door neighbor erect a steel garage for free. It had been hoped the neighbor would then put his pile of varnished gas smelling shitboxes inside. It never happened. Now today even the steel building is half rusted away.
The Ford flatbed is loaded up with a Corvette they had to deliver to California. They did it round trip in 6 days. WTF?
The 78 Chevy with the Dodge van is a tow convention at Hampton Beach, NH. Doug the Snake was the driver. Hooked up with a Mr. Donut girl half his age and moved away.
Towing used to be fun.
