Night time in mudville
My town was built by the Cheney family. They had silk mills that were, at the time, the World's largest. The company was quite benelovent to the employees, building housing, schools and civic structures. This is a former schoolhouse in the mill district. It now houses the Historical Society. My grandfather came from East Prussia in 1914 and got a job in the mills.

You can help in Japan
I am not Mr. Charity in any way. Most of them are rip offs. There is a blog I follow, No Future Tokyo
They are a bunch of hardcore Tokyo bikers who terrorize the neon nights of Japan's biggest city.
This week they have taken it upon themselves to travel North and help their fellow countrymen out with basic needs for survival. Their blog shows devastation that I have a hard time comprehending.
Please help them out if you can, this is grass roots charity with no bullshit corporation taking a 50% cut.
I sent a meager amount through Pay Pal and will again on payday. Even if it is just a tank of gas to get up there, I am sure Motoyan and his crew will appreciate it.

King of the Roads
Joey Dunlop’s achievements in the sport are legendary. He won five consecutive Formula 1 World titles, 24 Irish Grand Prixs and, amazingly, 26 Isle of Man TT titles, including a hat-trick of hat-tricks (i.e. winning the 125cc, 600cc and 750cc races in the same year). In recognition of this Joey was awarded an MBE in 1986.
